THE ONLY DREAMS IMPOSSIBLE TO REACH ARE THE ONES WE NEVER PURSUE!

Together, we can empower these children, break the cycle of poverty, and create a brighter future for all.

Open Hands Global comes alongside the poorest and oppressed communities in Pakistan with a vision to help break the cycle of poverty through education. Our main focus is to provide access to good schooling for children and youth along with a robust after school program.

We are delighted to share the latest updates and achievements from our organization as we continue our mission of bringing hope and empowerment to children in need. Your support and dedication have made a significant difference in the lives of these children and their families.

EXPANDING HORIZONS

EXPANDING HORIZONS

We are thrilled to announce that Open Hands Global welcomed 40 new children to the program in March this year. With this addition, our total number of students across both sites has reached an impressive 240. Among them, 140 students now receive our support at Chak Jalal Din (CJD), Rawalpindi, while Kadlathia, Sheikhupura (SKP) supports 100 children. These new additions come from the poorest families, and through our collective efforts, we are bringing them hope for a better tomorrow.

PROGRESS IN ENGLISH MEDIUM SCHOOLS

we are proud to share that a total of 120 children, 60 from each site, are currently attending English medium schools. We ensure that these children receive all the necessary resources, including textbooks, uniforms, transportation, after-school programs, and nutritious meals. Additionally, we have seven talented students in grade 9 who will be graduating next year, and one student who will be graduating this year, with their final results eagerly awaited. Their achievements are a testament to their hard work and the support they have received.

UNFORGETTABLE EXPERIENCES

FUN AND LEARNING

Education is not just about academics; it’s also about fostering joy and memorable experiences. Our youngest batch of new children at CJD recently had a delightful outing to Joy Land. They enjoyed a wide array of rides, activities, and even shared a meal together. Not only did the children have a wonderful time, but the teachers also equally enjoyed the outing. These experiences contribute to their holistic development and create cherished memories that will last a lifetime.

SUPPORTING EVERY STEP

ENHANCING TRANSPORTATION

We believe that no child should face unnecessary hardships on their educational journey. Recognizing the challenges faced by seven children from CJD who live 5km away from the designated school van drop- off point, we have taken action. These children used to walk home, change, and then walk back to the community center for their after-school program, often feeling tired and drained. To alleviate their burden, we have purchased a brand new rickshaw driven by our dedicated day guard. This ensures that these children can now travel comfortably between their homes and the community center, allowing them to fully participate in the after-school program.

NOURISHING MINDS AND BODIES

MORNING SNACKS AND MEALS

Our morning program, which caters to the youngest children in our organization, has taken another step towards providing comprehensive support. We are now able to offer a healthy snack every day, consisting of a glass of milk and a peanut butter sandwich or french toast. This program is particularly close to our hearts, as we understand the critical importance of proper nutrition for young minds. However, the current inflation in Pakistan has made it more challenging to sustain this initiative. We kindly request your continued support to ensure we can nourish these children and continue this vital program.

BUILDING A STRONGER COMMUNITY

PROGRESS OF OUR COMMUNITY CENTER AT SKP

In December 2022, we embarked on the ambitious journey of constructing our second community center at SKP that would serve the brick kiln worker community. With each passing day, we witness the transformation taking place at the construction site. The building is nearing completion, bringing us closer to realizing our vision of a sanctuary for children and families, offering a multitude of opportunities for growth, learning and collective engagement. The significance of this community center cannot be overstated. Its completion will have a generational impact, creating a ripple effect that will shape the lives of children, families, and the entire community. None of this would have been possible without the unwavering support of our generous donors, and passionate advocates. Your belief in our mission and your contributions have played a pivotal role in bringing this community center to life. We extend our heartfelt gratitude to each and every one of you.

As we approach the final stages of the community center’s construction, we invite you to join us in this pivotal moment. Your continued support is crucial to ensure the sustainability and success of this transformative initiative.
