Open Hands Global’s program in marginalized communities across Pakistan continues to thrive, thanks to the gracious and generous support of our donors. The children are flourishing under the care and guidance of our dedicated staff and teachers. We are excited to share the remarkable progress of both our students and educators.

Celebrating Pakistan Independence Day: Honoring Freedom and Sacrifice
On August 15, our staff and children came together to commemorate Pakistan’s Independence Day with enthusiasm and pride. The celebrations included tableaus and speeches that highlighted the
value of freedom and the sacrifices made to achieve it. The event emphasized the importance of safeguarding our rights and freedoms while dedicating ourselves to serving our country with hard
work and love.
Celebrating Success: Seven Students graduate Grade 10
We are thrilled to announce that all seven of our students successfully graduated from Grade 10, marking a significant milestone in their educational journeys. Supporting them in their next steps has been a rewarding learning experience.
Three young women achieved top positions and have joined F.Sc. programs, aspiring to pursue careers in medicine or nursing. Another student is awaiting admission into a three-year medical lab technician program. Our three young men have embarked on a three-year Electrical Program at the Christian Technical Training Centre (CTTC) in Gujranwala. Convincing their parents to send them to a hostel away from home required multiple discussions, emphasizing the value of acquiring professional skills for a brighter future. Open Hands Global fully supported the boys’ transition by covering expenses for their hostel stay, bedding, uniforms, books, and admission fees.
Additionally, the monthly school expenses for all seven student are fully sponsored by OHG, thanks to the
generosity and vision of our incredible donors. Your support continues to transform lives and open doors to brighter futures!
Celebrating Teachers’ Day: Honoring Our Educators
World Teachers’ Day, celebrated annually on October 5th, is a tribute to teachers around the globe for their invaluable contributions. Our 240 students expressed their love and respect by creating heartfelt presentations and preparing personalized cards to show their appreciation for their teachers’ dedication and hard work.

Empowering Educators Through Teachers Training & English Language Skills
Open Hands Global is committed to improving the quality of our teachers. Teachers at the CJD site were given transport and time off to attend a four day teachers training hosted by Station School 2, Rawalpindi. It was an excellent opportunity for our teachers to meet their peers and refresh and update their teaching skills.
At the Sheikhupura site, English language classes are conducted every Saturday morning to enhance teachers’ spoken English skills. The goal is to boost their confidence and enable them to communicate effectively in English during classroom interactions, fostering a more engaging and enriching learning environment for their students.
At Open Hands Global, we recognize that a full stomach is essential for effective learning. Our children continue to enjoy nutritious meals and seasonal fruits, ensuring they have the energy and focus needed to thrive in their education.

Open Hands Global continues to serve the community in various impactful ways. Being present in the community allows us to witness its vulnerabilities, and while it’s not always easy to intervene, westrive to help where we can, with your invaluable support.
Yeshwa’s Recovery Journey
Yeshwa, a young boy in our program who tragically injured his legs in a brick trolley accident, has endured a painful year of surgeries and recovery. Thanks to the generosity of OHG donors, he has received nutritious meals, physiotherapy, and prayers, which enabled him to take a few steps with a walker. Yeshwa recently underwent another surgery to remove the metal rod in his leg and is recovering well. OHG will continue supporting him until he is ready to rejoin the program.

Sataish Tariq’s New Chapter
Sataish, a brilliant student, faced challenges at home, where her stepfather opposed her education and insisted she stay home to care for her sibling. With her mother’s encouragement and OHG’s intervention, Sataish was placed in a convent hostel, where her school and boarding needs are fully supported. Now thriving, her grades have improved, her confidence has soared, and she is truly happy. Sataish occasionally visits the center to reconnect with friends and teachers, expressing immense gratitude for her newfound opportunities.
Updates from the Community: Stories of Hope and Resilience
Support for a Struggling Father
The father of an OHG student, bedridden for over a year, has shown remarkable improvement thanks to six months of physiotherapy support and essential items like a walker and a toilet seat provided by OHG. He is now able to walk short distances with assistance, easing the caregiving burden on his children.
Groceries for Single-Parent Families
Recognizing the immense challenges faced by single parent families, OHG was able to distribute groceries to a few families of our students, bringing much-needed relief during difficult times.
